We got married in September of 2012 and in January 2013 with no money and no business plan we founded The Energy Barre. The Energy Barre is a movement studio and we’ve grown it to have four locations in the suburbs North Of Boston and recently launched an app, (a freaking app!) with fitness, yoga, meditation, mindfulness and nutrition: all on-demand!

When it comes to the business, it’s really my game: I can say with 100% pride that I am responsible for the vision, the growth and the future AND I am entirely responsible for every single f*ck up along the way.

John admits time and time again that he doesn’t have the stomach for the risk so I boss it up at work while he runs the show at home.

There is certainly a lot of privilege that has afforded us the ability to take a chance and build our dream together, and there is a long history of hard work, commitment and heart break that has kept us going for 8+ years.
