beautiful, messy & full of love

Parenting

Being a parent is both the greatest assignment in the entire world and the most challenging and sometimes heart wrenching experience.

Sometimes we laugh at the chaos that adding two humans to our life has brought. We burst with pride over every big and little thing that our boys do. We grit our teeth at the defiance. We smile with swollen eyes as they gain more confidence and independence. We look forward to bed time and date nights, and then we miss them immediately upon separation. That roller coaster right there is like the kiddie ride when it comes to being a parent.

We also unintentionally ride the Tower of Terror style rides, basically every single day as we stress and worry, wondering if we are doing it right, spending enough time with them, feeding them the right foods, teaching them the right things when it feels like we are still learning, too.

We talk through a lot of these emotions, our wins and our misses on the podcast. And since we have broken nearly every single “rule” we ever made for ourselves when it comes to parenting…we stick to just two: do it with love, and if you do wrong - try again.

Meet Lennon

Lennon is our oldest. We always say he was kind to us, the way he broke us into parenting. He fit into our life like a puzzle piece. He is often complex. He has big feelings and he has strong conviction. He is generous and charismatic and A LOT like his dad. When he grows up he wants to be an actor and a marine biologist.

Meet Bodhi

Bodhi is our youngest. He broke our mold when he entered this world and challenged us to become something more. I always say “Lennon changed my life and Bodhi changed me.” He has no interest in fitting in, he is here to put on a show. He is quick witted and funny, like really funny!
